Tonight was Ladies Night at 2009 40th Annual World Series of Poker.
1,060 lovely ladies took the felt and when the chips were summed up for the day there were only 146 remaining. Evelyn Ng, Kirsty Gazes, Tiffany Michelle, Maya Gellar and Katja Thater were just some of the names to start the day - but they would all find a place on the rail by day's end. After dinner break Tamara Tibbles took the chip lead and she never let go, finishing the day with 129,700 in chips. Even with a clear chip lead over her next rival, Tibbles she will have to keep a look out for the previous Champion Svetlana Gromenkova (62,800), Patti Zarosky (51,000), Lisa Parsons (46,300) and Lauren Kling (44,200).
Maria Ho (24,800) and JJ Liu (38,300) still have their chance at capturing their first bracelet and first WSOP cash of the series, as both will be aiming for the $195,390 first prize, gold bracelet and title of Ladies World Champion!
